Welcome to we20

What is we20?

we20 is a place where you can organise meetings of minds and make plans for your future.

we20 was inspired as a public initiative to run alongside the G20, creating a bridge between the G20 leaders and you. The current objective for we20 plans is around finding short and long term solutions to the global economic crisis.

we20 is an independent and neutral place.

we20 is currently being built and operated by volunteers. We only hatched the idea for we20 at the first we20 meeting on 6 January this year. We are amazed and happy that our plan to create we20 has become a reality. We hope to help your we20 plans take shape too! Everything you see here has been built since our January meeting. We have not spent any money yet! This means that the current website is only the start of the story. We are adding functionality to the website all the time to make your experience here better while helping to make your plans reality.

we20 hopes to help you make your we20 plans a reality. If you submit a plan it may be featured on the official London G20 Summit official website.

In the long term, we20 hopes to operate alongside the G20. We are relying on you to achieve this.

You can join we20 communities around the internet (please login to Facebook before following link or search for we20 in Facebook):

Why use we20 and become part of our community?

There are many reasons why you may wish to use we20.

With the threat of the economic crisis hanging over people all around the world, now is the time to take action to find our own solutions. we20 thinks that having meetings with diverse people produces the best laid plans.

The G20 world leaders and their expert teams are making plans to try and fix the global economy. If you think the G20 may need some help, we20 may provide the platform for you to create a plan and build the concensus you need to have an impact and make your ideas a reality.

You may have a burning passion to create a solution to a challenge close to your heart. Perhaps you are curious about where a we20 meeting will lead you.

This challenge may be a local issue, such as raising funds for a local market or sports team; a national issue such as how your government should spend taxpayers money or laws affecting your workforce; or a global issue such as trade protection, global warming, the IMF and World Bank or International Accounting standards.

we20 allows you to communicate and have meetings with your friends, contacts and many others to make that plan.

How does we20 work?

we20 relies on you to organise we20 meetings with people you know. The object of these meetings is to create plans. we20's first call to action is for you to create plans to fix the economic crisis.

There are few rules around how you should run a we20 meeting. However, the goal is always to make a plan. If at first you don't succeed, try again.

Your we20 meeting should be between 3 and 20 people.

You can find more details on how to run we20 meetings in the we20 forum by clicking the link at the top of this page. Please add your views and experiences of what works and what may not work.

Once you submit a plan to we20.org it is open for voting.

As a member of the we20 community, you receive 20 votes which you can award however you like to different plans.

We have been talking to the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office and they will be reviewing the plans you upload before the London Summit on 2nd April and may post appropriate plans to their site.

we20 are working on what will happen after the London G20 Summit. We are building we20 to be a long term initiative but how it works will depend on you.
