Community Markets (28 votes)
At the Liverpool Chain Reaction Stronger Communities, Stronger Economy meeting an idea on Community Markets was discussed.
These would be locally supported regular Community cultural markets, to enable local small scale trading.
These markets would feature home grown produce, cultural foods, home made arts, crafts, antiques, flea market, and also serve as a place to meet, share and be neighbourly.
This would be good for the community - for example, enable mothers to exhange childrens clothing etc. It could create much needed income streams, and also help to create work ethic.
This would also would support understanding, tolerance in a multi cultural communities, and encourage tourism in the area
In Liverpool, a space has been identified, although further support is needed to make it happen.
