Financial products or instruments which can't be modeled or understood, should be prohibited.
There are some products for which clear financial models can be built.
And others which no-one understands. The regulators should take a "guilty until proven innocent" approach to new instruments : if a plausible model can't be demonstrated, then the instrument should not be permitted.
